We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital.

In this role you'll be working with our Data and Analytics team, as we transform DWP into a ever more data-led organisation.

As a Senior Test Engineer it's your job to lead our teams as we build and assure applications that will be used by DWP staff and customers.

You'll work across multi-disciplinary teams to shape and deliver automated test solutions that enable DWP to deliver quality services consistently that meet the needs of our agents and customers.

Day to day you will:

• Provide technical and strategic leadership for multiple ETL test engineers in product teams.
• Define the approach for test infrastructure setup and drive improvements
• Identify the right technical test tools for the job
• Drive standardisation by sharing reusable libraries and services
• Lead reviews of test practices
• Share and build on your experience in building automated test solutions and your knowledge of using industry standard automated testing tools.
• Work alongside other test engineers as well as both software and DevOps engineers within the teams around you and the wider community to deliver consistent solutions and strategies

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

• Experience of leading in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, delivering products within specific time-scales and engaging with multiple senior Stakeholders.
• Comprehensible experience in software testing within an Agile delivery team, for example working in TDD/BDD.
• Experience in the development of automated test suites and tools.
• Experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery - methodology and tools (i.e. GIT).
• Demonstrable understanding of Non-Functional testing including Performance, Accessibility and Security Testing with adherence to relevant policy/law.
