Shifts are twelve hours in duration starting at 7am-7pm for a day shift and 7pm-7am for a night shift
We are seeking to recruit a Site Security Officer to work as part of the existing team in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Our priorities are to maintain a safe environment for staff, service users and visitors in line with St Andrew's Healthcare policies and standards.
You will be part of a diverse team which operates from a reception / control room at the entrance of the hospital. You will work alongside Receptionists, and in many cases you will be the first point of contact for visitors to site and callers to our switch board; which you will monitor. You will be expected to meet and greet all visitors and professional’s and offer excellent customer service.
You will facilitate the daily distribution of keys, personal alarms and the entry / exit of St Andrew's staff through the secure airlock. You will monitor and respond accordingly to alarm activations including internal emergencies and fire alarm activations. You will patrol the full site regularly and be expected to do this in incremental weather whilst also monitoring CCTV for suspicious behaviour. You will create and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times and ensure all records are maintained accurately.
You will be required to escort contractors/visitors on site, keeping accurate tool lists at all times to ensure a safe environment is maintained.
The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours, be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an attitude reflective of St Andrew’s vision and values, willing and capable of undertaking the necessary training. Previous experience of working in a healthcare environment, a security control room and conducting site patrols is desirable. An awareness of the security requirements within a secure environment is also desired. Successful candidates must be able to attend a three day induction in Northampton before undertaking any duties in the security department, and at least one further full week of training within their first few months of joining the St Andrew’s Healthcare security bureau.
