Job Purpose:

To deliver high quality training programmes and complete assessments, reviews and completions in a timely manner as set by management, achieving or exceeding the required quality standards. To support all elements of the learner journey, providing learners with constructive, professional and relevant feedback in order for them to gain the diploma or full apprenticeship standard.

Core Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Arrange visits and maintain contact with allocated caseload of learners
  • Induct, observe, and progress learners in the workplace
  • Deliver classroom training sessions for learners in groups and 1-1, both face to face and virtually
  • Within guidelines laid down by the awarding body and the client, assess the work of participants in the virtual classroom/workshop/workplace within set timeframes and to achieve targets set by management
  • Provide constructive, professional and relevant feedback to learners in relation to their qualification
  • Observe learners in the workplace or virtual environment against criteria laid down by the awarding body and give feedback as appropriate
  • Ensure own assessments are accurate and achieve verification agree rates set by management
  • Maintain effective working relationships with each learner within your caseload
  • Communicate effective with your line manager, highlighting any issues prior to becoming critical
  • Carry out quarterly reviews with learners and submit paperwork within agreed timescales
  • Ensure that own allocated learners are progressing in line with their target achievement dates and Liaise with the Programme Manager/s for the purpose of monitoring the progress of qualification/standards achievement
  • Promptly identify situations requiring periods of absence from the programme and complete/submit accurate paperwork as required
  • Ensure that learner records are accurately maintained, including records held within MIS systems and portfolio systems
  • Complete visits to other sites and locations when required or as directed by management
  • Internally verify the work of other Skill Coaches where qualified and directed
  • Maintain positive relations with learners, business partners and all other stakeholders to ensure Pearson TQ retains and gains business
  • Help learners to develop positive attitudes towards learning and studying
  • Attend standardisation and team meetings as required
  • Assist in the assessment of other qualifications when required
  • Be flexible over hours of attendance/work, including evenings and weekends where required
  • To undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualified trainer / assessor with experience in training and delivery of management qualifications
  • Can demonstrate effective learner programme management
  • Work in a target driven environment
  • Proven track record in achieving targets
  • Demonstrate OTLA and standardisation observations is consistently operating as an outstanding or minimum good
  • Good written skills that captures detailed feedback and target setting of objectives
  • Hold relevant training/teaching qualification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven coaching and mentoring skills
  • Outstanding inter-personnel and presentational skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Work under pressure
  • Work under their own supervision

Desirable

  • HoldVerifier Qualification
  • Experience of the Ofsted inspection
  • Understands the ESFA funding requirement
  • Hold a management qualification at level 3 or above
