The job holder will work with marketing and business teams across the local UK market as well as liaising with global team colleagues, to support paid social media, search & display marketing campaigns. They will ensure that best practice & brand guidelines are followed and ensure a commercially focused approach.

Pearson’s global marketing organization leads on the marketing strategy for our business. By leveraging global centers of expertise in brand, research & insights, marketing excellence, creative services and digital, we will deliver an integrated, global-local approach that enables marketing to be a growth driver for Pearson.

Summary of Role:

Main activities / responsibilities:

  • Lead on platform maintenance, channel best practice and content marketing framework
  • Implementation and optimisation of paid social campaigns across all areas of the UK business, driving customer engagement and ROI.
  • Assist with spend allocation and budget management.
  • Build a robust testing framework to drive campaign performance, including execution & analysis across all channels to maximize overall results and scale.
  • Lead on delivery of social media audit with a view to simplifying the UK social media landscape to drive lead generation and build Pearson brand.
  • Develop social media guidelines and lead programme of training for marketing and customer services to maximise value from social media
  • Improve social listening and support marketing in maximising the capabilities of the new OneCRM social media platform
  • Support customer services in using social media and the new OneCRM community platform to improve customer retention
  • Work across the business to increase production of video content as an integral part of the publishing and product development process
  • Develop an influencer strategy, leveraging their communities to drive customer engagement, brand recognition and drive new leads.

This is a specialist marketing role, which requires the ability to build direct and cross-functional relationships. Key stakeholders include (without being limited to):

  • Local and global marketing teams
  • Product content managers and executives
  • External agencies
  • Business intelligence team
  • Internal design and UX teams
  • Product owners and development teams.

Qualifications

Qualifications, experience and personal specification:

This role requires specialist digital marketing knowledge and experience with a focus on measurement and optimisation.

The job holder will work with a wide range of teams in a range of locations, and will have an important role to play in driving our evolution to a truly digital company.

As such, the role requires an energetic, creative and commercially minded individual with:

  • Experience of social media marketing and demonstrable understanding of what makes an effective paid social media campaign
  • A data-driven mindset and the ability to create, analyze, and recommend from KPIs as well as generate reports for the executive level.
  • Experience with web analytics systems (Google Analytics), as well as various other digital analytics tools
  • Knowledge of conversion rate optimisation
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Ability to enthuse and motivate people
  • The ability to seek creative solutions to problems
  • The ability to engage with the values and vision of the organisation
  • The ability to manage third party agencies and suppliers
  • The ability to set and follow processes and procedures with a high level of attention to detail, but flex these processes and procedures when the market or situation changes.

Essential:

The main focus of the role is to support the deployment of paid social campaigns and ensure that best practice approaches are followed. As such, we require an individual who shows:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work
  • Ability to pick up new systems rapidly, and follow processes systematically
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience of facebook, twitter and linkedin advertising platforms
  • Experience of digital marketing.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of paid search and display marketing
  • Understanding of programmatic advertising
  • Familiarity with PPC management platforms
  • Google Advertising Professional Certification
  • Knowledge of accessibility guidelines
  • Good understanding of the UK education sector
  • Experience of adhering to a well-known UK or international brand.
