Social Worker – Men’s Mental Health Low Secure/ Locked Integrated Practice Unit,

Location: Northampton
Band 5 / Professional
Salary:  £24,161 - £31,469 per annum plus package
Fixed Term Contract until 31st May 2019
Hours: 37.5 per week

St Andrew’s in Northampton is a registered charity and is a national resource taking referrals from all parts of the UK.  There is an exciting opportunity to work as a Social Worker within the Men’s Mental Health Low Secure/ Locked IPU, St Andrew’s in Northampton.  The successful applicant would be working within the two Low Secure wards of this IPU with a caseload of 20 adult male service users.

Your role with us  
The work offers the opportunity to see complex patients through to successful discharge. Regular supervision is provided and opportunities for development both in social work and other related practice issues are provided and encouraged. You will be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and there will be opportunities for training to ensure re-registration.   

You should be in receipt of the Diploma in Social Work or equivalent and have experience with Mental Health Legislation including the Care Programme Approach.  A good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act and the SafeGuarding processes under the Care Act 2014 will be required.

The post is open to qualified and newly qualified Social Workers & the salary offered will reflect any post-qualification experience and skills.
