Your role with us
The post is open to qualified and newly qualified Social Workers & the salary offered will reflect any post-qualification experience and skills.
You will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team and have good communication and interpersonal skills. There is an expectation that the post holder will seek to develop their skills in the specialist area of Acquired Brain Injury, Dementia or Huntington’s disease. A good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act and the SafeGuarding processes under the Care Act 2014 will be required.
The post offers opportunities for the successful candidate to develop in-depth work and creative with patients detained under both civil and criminal sections of the Mental Health Act 1983 and patients managed under DoLS and the Mental Capacity Act 2005. The work offers the opportunity to see complex patients through to successful discharge.
Social Workers throughout the Neuropsychiatry Service are managed by a Lead Social Worker and the successful candidate will receive supervision from the Team Senior Social Worker. Regular supervision is provided and opportunities for development both in social work and other related practice issues are provided and encouraged.
You will be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council ( HCPC) and there will be opportunities for training to ensure re-registration. There will also be opportunities to undertake Practice Assessor and BIA training after successfully completing the ASYE award, leading to being able to develop graduate trainee social workers and undertake the BIA role.
