St Andrew’s is a charity commissioned by the NHS to provide specialist mental healthcare for people with some of the most complex and challenging mental health needs in the UK. The Consultancy Service specialises in taking our clinical expertise into community outpatient settings. We therefore offer a variety of services both in Northampton and in London and surrounds.
Our service is growing as we have recently been commissioned by NHS England to assist them in to provide a specialist Complex Treatment Service for Military Veterans. We are therefore looking for a Social Worker with significant experience in treating complex mental health needs and who has a passion for working with Veterans to help them transition successfully into civilian life after service. Previous experience working with this client group would be an advantage.The Role
Your job will be a key part of the multi-disciplinary team in helping to design and implement a service that is uniquely tailored to meet the needs of Veteran’s living in the East Midlands and East of England. You will be working in close collaboration with our partner Transition Intervention and Liaison Service located in Lincoln and Colchester.
Due to the volume of safeguarding issues typically raised within this population this role will support the Clinical Liaison Nurse (CLN) who will identify which Veteran’s on their caseload require this support in conjunction with the Clinical Lead. Case supervision will be provided by the lead whilst social work supervision will be provided within the Charity.
Due to the team being based across the East Midlands and East of England you will be willing to travel and flexible with regard to where you are based dependent on service need. In return, you will also benefit from being able to work from home when service need allows. Due to the vast geographical area the service will be serving, a full driver’s license is essential for the role.
Due to the pioneering nature of this service, there will be opportunities for service development including co-production with service users and an interest and enthusiasm in these areas is desired.Reward
