Do you have a successful track record of developing and delivering innovative engagement approaches? If so, we have a fantastic new role as our Specialist Advisor for the Cancer Workforce, working with our Macmillan nurses and other badged professionals, to ensure our work is at the cutting edge of good and emerging practice.
About the role
Everything that Macmillan does to address the needs of people with cancer is based on a sophisticated methodology for engaging with people and with those who can help them. The Specialist Advisory Division is the engine-room which houses Macmillan’s knowledge of how to do this. Key audiences of people and communities, the cancer workforce (including Macmillan Nurses) businesses, and care delivery systems enable Macmillan to achieve long-term and lasting outcomes for people with cancer.
This role will be Macmillan’s subject matter expert in the field of Cancer Workforce Engagement. The role holder will drive our work in this area; representing Macmillan externally at all levels, and owning the agenda internally to ensure that our work in this area is well defined and articulated, effective and at the cutting edge of good and emerging practice.
You will be a strong and influential leader who has a successful track record of developing and delivering innovative engagement approaches, specifically with credible knowledge of doing so within the health or social care workforce. Perhaps you have led a workforce planning function within a leading NHS trust or you are a HR professional with health sector experience. Ultimately, you will comfortably demonstrate experience navigating complex and matrix working settings, and the ability to forge productive collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
At Macmillan, our ambition is to reach and improve the lives of everyone affected by cancer and inspire millions to do the same. We are a source of support: providing practical, clinical, emotional, and financial support. We are also a force for change: listening to people affected by cancer and working together to influence and lobby for better cancer care.
