The Senior Cloud and Hosting Services Analyst will provide operational oversight of financial, process, and relationship’s with our internal customers’ various IT components and applications in the cloud for AWS. Advise customers on various Cloud solution options, discuss benefits and risks of each, and recommend a solution that aligns with the customer's business, information, application, and system requirements.

  • AWS financial tracking experience required; other CSP (Azure, etc) a plus
  • Experience conducting analysis to identify and report if cloud services are being used in a cost and operationally efficient manner
  • Experience with the development of a cloud management model, capacity management, chargeback, and utilization tracking
  • Experience transitioning from a Capex driven cost model to an Opex driven cost model.
  • Experience with determining chargeback allocations and amounts
  • Familiarity with cost impacts of dynamic provisioning
  • Experience with collecting cloud related data and reporting
  • Experience with using Cloud tagging for reporting and chargeback purposes

Qualifications

Professional Experience

  • Virtualization Platforms (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V, KVM, Xen-Server, RHEL Virt, Virt-IO).
  • Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, GCE).
  • Cloud Management Platforms (CloudCheckr, Rightscale, Scalr, Cloud Health, Cloudability, etc.)
  • Proven understanding of Infrastructure provisioning and management (Deployment tools, e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, Cloudformation, OpsWorks...)
  • Cloud certifications (AWS prefered)
  • Experience with Cloud architectures, pros/cons, and migration considerations.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage business and technology expectations.

Desired Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of financial / cost experience (Design, Operations, Capacity management… ) of which 2 years of Cloud financial experience with AWS
  • Excellent interfacing, relationship building, and consulting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work independently, self-directed, strong work ethic and adherence to deadlines.
