We are seeking at Sr. Project Manager to join our Legal Operations team in Iowa City, IA.

Job Summary:

  • Manages legal projects under limited direction.
  • Responsible for managing and tracking project timeline, budget and data flow of project information.
  • Provides additional financial metrics and analysis as needed.
  • Communicates project status to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Organizes activities in order to support departmental and project objectives and goals.
  • Projects include process creation, process improvement and technology initiatives, including process mapping and change management efforts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work proactively to ensure that projects are completed within acceptable timeframe and within budget.
  • Ensure that projects outcomes are achieved as defined.
  • Monitor and update project information, create documentation, reports, and related work throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure assigned duties and responsibilities are completed with quality, are accurate, and timely.
  • Communicate project status to stakeholders/division leadership throughout the duration of the project and post implementation to make certain all impacted stakeholders have an understanding of risks, issues and activities.
  • Collect, compile and prepare financial data in support of projects for planning and approval purposes. Provides additional financial metrics and analysis as needed.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues. Provide recommendations and resolution options to stakeholders.
  • Maintain, organize and distribute project information, creates documentation, reports and related work to stakeholders as needed/requested. Documentation may include issues log, white papers, FAQs, plans, schedules, process maps, process documentation, user guides, blog posts, and other documentation required to effectively manage deliverables as assigned.
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with internal resources and external vendors. Be responsive and timely in responding to questions, concerns, and requests.
  • Serve as a point-of-contact to the internal customer and cross-functional teams for day-to-day execution.
  • Interface and collaborate cross functionally (eg: information security, technology, finance) to ensure project success.
  • Perform day-to-day functions to support the successful operation of the department and to support the objectives and goals of the department.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and escalate as appropriate.
  • Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus four plus years of demonstrated project management experience is required, preferably in a technology or legal operations discipline.
  • PMP / PMI-ACP Certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience to include:
  • presenting and reporting on project plans;
  • planning organizing, and managing resource to bring about the successful completion of goals and objectives; and
  • establishing and maintaining relationships with colleagues across the enterprise.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction and to manage multiple, conflicting priorities.
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills, strong listening, negotiation and facilitation skills.
