Senior Sales & Operation / Demand Planner will be considered the subject matter expert for Demand Planning. In the role, the Sr Demand Planner will develop expertise in using Logility (the Demand Planning tool for Pearson), set up and maintain Logility system data, document system and functional processes relevant for planning and manage S&OP meetings with business and finance stakeholders.

This position will be based in Toronto as a part of the Operations team, reporting directly to the Director Integrated Business Planning - Canada. The incumbent will be the source of supply management information and channel for all Sales & Marketing (local and intercompany countries) demand requirements for in-country demand and supply planning review.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collate and analyze monthly supply review information for Sales & Operation Planning meeting
  • Liaise with export countries on the demand plan
  • Consolidate and analyze local and export consensus forecast plan for supply capacity planning
  • Provide consolidated consensus forecast for imported product to respective source countries by leading in the preparation of statistical demand and returns; compiling data and verifying its accuracy and making necessary adjustments to both data and system settings for changing business requirements
  • Collate and analyze monthly supply review information for Sales & Operation Planning meeting
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders (Sales and Marketing, Finance, Product and Supply teams) as needed
  • Coordinate activities between Product, Sales & Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain e.g. new launch product/pack/ promotion, ad-hoc request to decant/rework demand
  • Reducing risk of write off exposure during product exit or introduction, and meeting project timeline expectations.
  • Review demand management parameters and work on new clusters and segmentation
  • Assist in enforcing inventory holding policy to improve working capital movement while maintaining required service level, and identify opportunity for potential savings.
  • Prepare monthly management info report e.g. month-end KPI forecast and exception reports, OOS analysis, stockholding, SKU portfolio etc.
  • Facilitate monthly supply & sourcing meeting to improve vendor performance
  • Responsible for accuracy of product master data setup in source - MDM and planning - Logility systems
  • Responsible for maintaining and providing insight to Logility system data and processes by:

>oManaging product segmentation

  • Maintaining Logility parameters - Seasonality Profiles
  • Uploading finance and sales budgets by product portfolio and line of business
  • Pull extracts and create analytical information as needed for demand review meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree preferably in mathematics or business analytics.
  • Three to five years’ experience in S&OP and Demand Planning in a consumer industry; preferably work experience in Logility
  • Problem solving - able to identify risks / pitfalls and take appropriate actions; able to develop and employ a variety of approaches to resolve wide-ranging problem.
  • Self motivated with the ability to use own judgement and initiative when required and the ability to take responsibility for decisions where appropriate
  • Experience in querying and analyzing large and complex datasets
  • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to drive and lead projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
