Job Description

Are you a registered nurse looking for a new challenge in a specialist unit? Come and join our multi-disciplinary teams who work together to help people regain their dignity and live the best life possible.

About us:

We are one of the most diverse providers of mental health care in the UK and our staff are dedicated to improving lives through the wide range of services we offer.

Our purpose is to help people to recover from mental illness and to find new and better treatments that allow people to lead full and productive lives. Our ambition is to be the best organisation of our type in the UK.

The Limes is a specialist unit providing assessment and treatment to older adults who have consistently presented with behavior that means it is unsuitable for the person to live in mainstream care settings.

About the role:

As a Staff Nurse at WLMHT CID you will be based at either Jubilee ward St Bernard's or at The Limes.

Jubilee ward provides care for older adults who are frail and have acute functional mental health difficulties or dementia. We aim to provide the best mental and physical health care to our patients who are often vulnerable and may lack capacity to decide upon their care needs.  Jubilee ward works in partnership with patients and carers and is registered with John’s campaign.

The Limes the unit caters for 10 male and 10 female patients who are frail and have acute mental health difficulties, including dementia. You will join a high performing team to provide the best mental and physical healthcare to our vulnerable patients.

Our service runs 24 hours every day of the year, and we offer a range of shift patterns to suit the needs of our nurses.

Alongside an exciting and fulfilling nursing role in a valued environment, we also offer:

  • A full induction and preceptorship programme
  • A supportive environment to develop clinical skills
  • Access to a comprehensive online library of training, development, and resources
  • Support towards career development and promotion opportunities within the Trust
  • Annual leave buying and selling scheme
  • Car lease scheme
  • Childcare vouchers
  • Discounted Gym membership
  • Flexible working
  • Relocation package
  • Staff discounts

About you:

To be a successful Staff Nurse at WLMHT, you will be a registered nurse with a passion for providing the best possible care to all people who need it. You will be comfortable working both on your own and with others from a range of different backgrounds, including professional.

To thrive in this role, you need to be resilient, motivated, and committed to adapt to working in an ever-changing environment. For further information please read the attached Job Description and Personal Specification.
