Purpose

The Stakeholder Manager will have responsibility for managing the effective delivery and implementation of a global progression and recognition strategy with Higher Education Institutions and Ministries of Education.

The role has the following key areas of responsibility;

  • Gain recognition of Pearson qualifications with Higher Education Institutions around the world, focusing on our key markets North America, Canada, Australia and United Kingdom, enabling learners internationally to achieve their ambitions through progression opportunities and recognition of our qualifications.
  • To be the expert on HE around the world, and use this knowledge to build advocacy among stakeholder groups (HEI, Ministries and other institutions) for Pearson qualifications as a progression route into Higher Education.
  • To build relationships and partnerships with key HEI institutions, so as to visibly strengthen our link with HEI and position this as an integral offer to our proposition.
  • To lead on the development of new projects, commercial propositions and services to strengthen our link with learners in their journey towards HE education.

Duties

  • Lead on the HE recognition and progression strategy and operational plan; liaising with regional colleagues to agree on tactics to secure global and local HE recognition, local government and regulatory recognition and local equivalency approaches.
  • Build relationships and partnerships with universities and other stakeholders around the globe to secure recognition of Pearson Qualifications.
  • Build, maintain and develop a pipeline for progression and recognition activities in key markets segmented by our stakeholder groups (e.g. Universities, International Governments, Credit Evaluators, Admission Services, Schools, Colleges).
  • Evangelise Pearson career-focused programmes and present our proposition at relevant conferences and events that can increase our market exposure.
  • Build an expertise of HE around the world and share this knowledge with internal and external stakeholders.
  • To lead on the development of new projects, commercial propositions and services to strengthen our link with learners in their journey towards HE education.
  • Provide & source market/competitor/learner progression intelligence and data to inform our products, services, efficacy metrics and strategy.
  • Communicate recognition we have gained among regional colleagues and key stakeholder groups.
  • Engage with our qualification development teams in identifying international academics to support product development.
  • Work with marketing teams to articulate proposition and the development of sales and marketing collateral/digital resources.
  • Manage budget in line with activities.

Experience

Essential

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the landscape of global Higher Education.
  • Experience working with qualifications.
  • Experience of Business Development.
  • Experience working with senior decision makers within different stakeholder groups.
  • Managing Plans and Budgets.
  • Outstanding standards of professionalism, customer focus and creativity, combined with ability to contribute to development of strategy

Desirable

  • A proven track record of leading projects and influencing within teams, as well as working in a matrix structure.
  • Knowledge/experience of implementing efficacy.
  • Previous experience working internationally.
  • Experience of developing / supporting educational services

Skills

  • Leadership skills.
  • High-level confident communicator, with excellent written and oral presentation skills and an ability to build relationships and work with people at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Influencing skills.
  • Credibility to engage with stakeholders at a senior level.
