You’ll develop tools and materials to help staff to talk about Macmillan to a range of internal and external audiences and you'll also provide expert communications advice to teams, making it easy for staff to know about key activity and act as ambassadors for Macmillan's work. You will be passionate about change and helping our staff understand new ways of working, feel valued and get excited for the future of Macmillan by supporting leadership, strategy and change communications within our Cancer Support Operations teams at Macmillan.
Although the focus of this role is internal, broad communications experience is desirable and will help you to shape messages and provide specialist advice to senior leaders and key teams on communications planning, delivery and evaluation.
You’ll have a proven track record in establishing, maintaining and developing highly-effective working relationships with senior stakeholders. You’ll need a strong background in communications, excellent writing skills, a clear understanding of what makes a good story. It’s important that you can demonstrate the skills needed to explain complex information to diverse audiences without ever lessening the impact of our message.
In return we will actively develop you and offer excellent benefits including a 34.5 hour week (with an early finish on Friday), private medical insurance, life assurance, pension, childcare vouchers, generous annual leave, and interest free loans for season ticket and gym membership.
Macmillan is a forward thinking organisation. Our head office is in London but we welcome applications from all parts of the UK. Please note; if you are based outside London – some travel will be required to head office and other locations (every 2-3 weeks approx.) but we’ll use technology such as Skype/facetime to keep you involved and ensure this is never excessive.
