Job Description

 

Location: South West Region

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5pm. Happy to discuss flexible working

Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 + bonus + benefits

 

What the job involves:

Working across the South West with properties in Bristol, Bath, Exeter and Bournemouth, the Student Services and Welfare Manager provides advice, guidance and direct support to city teams in managing the breadth of student wellbeing issues. They are the primary advisor on maintaining best practice, legal compliance and consistency throughout the region.

 

To give you an idea of what to expect, you`ll be:

  • Delivering student services in line with the business`s agreed aims and framework, acting as a regional subject matter expert
  • Ensuring a high professional standard of case management across the region
  • Ensuring that all student-facing employees are able to escalate student wellbeing concerns appropriately
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with student services professionals in universities and relevant community organisations, including participation in multi-stakeholder committees
  • Supporting the Head of Operations to build greater awareness of student wellbeing issues across the region, including sharing data and learnings, updating on new policy and cascading training as required

 

What we look for in you:

  • A good working knowledge of the issues facing students
  • The ability to empathise with a variety of welfare issues and understand the impact these issues have on university students
  • Experience of implementing and/or managing a service for young people (18-25)
  • Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills
  • A passion for excellence, and a demonstratable commitment to achieving high standards
