Similarly, The EdX/Pearson partnership involves the Blended Delivery of otherwise fully online Programs targeting working adults. The Content is fully online while Pearson center hosts a series of local events ranging from facilitated discussions, industry round tables, speaker series, capstone projects and Case studies.

The Student Success Advisor’s (SSA) main focus is to foster positive student engagement for all learners using best practices from Pearson’s market-leading position in global online program management. The SSA is responsible for making sure all student communication and any potential risks are tracked in our student success ecosystem powered by Salesforce. If a risk is identified the Student Success Advisor will implement an intervention and continue to monitor student progress until any concerns related to that risk have been mitigated. The SSA will work in partnership with the Local Instructional Facilitator to share responsibility for student progression targets.

This position also directs all classroom time and activities, develops in-class lessons and activities (across a variety of subjects) and liaise with faculty and academic partners

Qualifications

●Successfully transition students from registration (paid application) to enrollment (logged in and participating)

●Conduct orientation and welcome seminars for all new students and ensure a smooth handoff from the Enrollment Advisor

●Execute the Pearson student success plan which includes both proactive student check-ins and prescribed interventions for those who have been flagged as at-risk

●Take primary responsibility for retaining students through to completion via monitoring, delivery of support services and creative interventions for those who struggle to engage

●Facilitate orientation and a variety of meeting types throughout the program to include both live and asynchronous virtual sessions and/or in-person sessions at a Pearson learning center

●Train subject matter experts on protocols for leading successful virtual meetings

●Coordinate onsite meetings as defined in course syllabi

●Respond to student inquiries within 1 business day

●Collaborate with the local and central teams to escalate student issues to the appropriate internal resource as needed (e.g. tutoring, tech support or pastoral care)

●Manage all student communication and course completion data via the Salesforce CRM

●Coordinate deployment and data transfer of all program surveys to the appropriate analyst for processing

●Recommend improvements to the student experience and the Pearson student success plan

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years experience in Student Affairs, Education, Communications, a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Previous work as a student advisor at a university or for a professional development organization is desirable.

Preferred


●Familiarity with Salesforce and virtual learning environments like edX, Moodle, AdobeConnect or other technology facilitated learning environments

●Experience with online or blended program delivery
