The General Qualifications Assessment team is responsible for the delivery of GCSEs and A levels as well as a range of other qualifications in the UK and internationally. We work with examiners to set examination papers, train and monitor examiners and then ensure qualifications are marked and awarded so that candidates everywhere get the right results.
The Subject Co-ordinator (SC) supports with the delivery of a range of subjects within our qualifications portfolio and is responsible for the production of assessment related content for our General Qualifications portfolio.
Reporting to the Qualification Delivery and Award Manager (QDAM), the SC works as part of a subject team, with the collective aim is to deliver a professional and customer focused service.
A day in the life of
The SC’s role is varied and changes throughout the year depending on the cycle of assessment delivery. SCs will attend team meetings, manage the workload for their allocated subject and support QDAM and Subject Leaders (SLs) in their day-to-day work. SCs are also responsible for the secure and accurate management of the content production for a series of question papers.
Other activities are:
-Working to deadlines on a set activities throughout the year
-Ensuring timely escalations to the QDAM on adherence to schedules or other issues
-Managing their own training and seeking advice and support from their QDAM
-Working collaboratively within own subject team as well as across the wider Assessment team
The role is based in our High Holborn office. A typical working pattern is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week. Weekend working is required at busy times throughout the year with time off in lieu available. We ask our SCs to be flexible and work across qualifications and the wider department as required.

Who we are looking for
The position would suit a highly motivated self starter who would like to pursue a career within a large dynamic organisation. There is a clear development plan in place for SCs to progress to other roles within the team. It is a bonus but not essential to have a background or interest in the education sector.
The role will suit a proactive individual with excellent attention to detail as well as organisational skills. The post holder will need to be PC computer literate and able to work to tight deadlines with the ability to work under pressure and be flexible in their approach to problem-solving. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate at all levels are essential.
A range of fixed-term contracts are available.
