The Macmillan Horizon Centre is an exciting new development that opened in Brighton in November 2016. The Centre provides support to people affected by cancer from across Sussex.
As the Support and Activities Services Manager you will play a key role in coordinating and developing support services at this new state-of-the-art Cancer Support Centre.
You will be responsible for the development, management and day to day running of cancer support services delivered by volunteers at the Centre. This will include complementary therapies, physical activity, body image services, peer support and a programme of social activity sessions.
Your understanding of the impact of cancer and your ability and commitment to motivate and develop teams of volunteers will ensure that the services are developed to meet the needs of people affected by cancer.
To succeed in this busy and demanding role you will need to be extremely well organised and demonstrate strong people management skills, an understanding of the needs of volunteers, experience of working collaboratively with different organisations and proven ability to work with and through others at different levels to achieve an outcome.
We will appreciate your skills, experience and commitment and will build on them through our own commitment to actively develop you.
We also offer a range of benefits including private medical insurance, life assurance, pension, generous annual leave, and interest free loans for season tickets and gym membership. Existing members of the NHS Pension Scheme may be eligible to remain in that scheme while employed by Macmillan.
