Job Description

Are you passionate about people and curious about what makes them successful? Do you know how to build skills frameworks and assessment tools to support with recruitment and training? Could you take the lead in creating new talent development programmes to help grow our people and our business? If yes, then we may have the role for you!

As a Talent and Capability Partner in the Metro Bank University team, you will work closely with leaders and their teams to help define the capabilities required to help surprise and delight customers and create fans internally and externally. You will lead the design of recruitment tools, programmes and pathways that develop existing capability and grow our teams in line with Metro Bank’s Vision and growth plans. This is an exciting role working on a variety of different projects at any one time. This would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in people development, recruitment and/ or psychology.

So what would you be doing?...

  • Designing and developing high quality training materials, talent tools, processes and programmes
  • Developing clear, agreed plans by negotiating and influencing priorities in collaboration with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Demonstrating high standards of communication through all written, and face to face interactions
  • Planning and managing your time to prioritise work and achieve deadlines
  •  Providing insight and expertise on a wide range of people development challenges

You need to be this kind of person…

  • Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers
  • Prepared to stick at something – we get nervous if someone has jumped from job to job
  • Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment

We always support colleagues to develop their skills. But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these wonderful things...

  • Your current role is likely to be (or similar to) a Leadership Development Partner and ideally you will have a degree in occupational psychology or a related field (or equivalent work experience) and BPS Level A and B in Occupational Ability and Personality Testing
  • Experience of carrying out job analysis and creating skills frameworks that clearly represent what a good job looks like in role and can be used to create job descriptions, career pathways, recruitment tools and development programmes
  • You will have created high quality materials and will have lead the creation and delivery of talent programmes to accelerate the development of colleagues
  • You need to be able to communicate plans to drive engagement and the success of learning programmes

IMPORTANT FOOTNOTE;
Thanks for reading our job advert. We do our very best to bring to life what it’s like working as part of the team at Metro Bank. We also know that sometimes some candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they think they can tick every box. So if you are really excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… go on… why not give it a whirl? Good luck!
