The primary responsibility of the Teacher is to deliver Mathematics to AS and A-2 level students for a one year fixed term contract.



To motivate, encourage and develop qualities of independence, adaptability and perseverance in students Producing schemes of work, lesson plans and other departmental documentation a required Shared responsibility for identifying appropriate materials required for the resourcing of the department Maintenance of classroom area and production of appropriate display materials Planning, administering and marking students’ work Writing reports on a regular basis and liaising as appropriate with parents Attending Maths and Faculty meetings Contribute to the Computing Key Skills Programme Acting as tutor to a group of 18 students Undertake any other reasonable duties assigned by the Principal Participate in college day and evening duties Organise and coordinate student and teacher exchange programmes Organise effective planning, coordination and monitoring of all curriculum matters relevant to the subject area Be aware of the needs and reactions of young adolescents in a residential situation Contribute to extra curricular life of the college and participate in the boarding supervision rota Assist with games and/or Combined Cadet Force where required. To undertake any other reasonable duty related to the job purpose required from time to time by the Head of Co-Curriculum

To communicate honestly with your Line Manager To be responsible for your own time and attendance at work To achieve deadlines/targets that have been set by your Line Manager To work within the departmental budget and assist in the control of costs To assist your Line Manager to implement change within the department

Relevant Degree Vert Ed/PGCE qualification Sound knowledge of relevant subject area, including Decision Mathematics and Mechanics AS and A level teaching experience in relevant subject area Effective communication skills, oral and written Thorough understanding of Computing in educational administration and communication systems Good computing skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


Ability to teach Further Mathematics Knowledge of boarding education Qualification to coach a sport Ability to assist with outdoor Pursuits

Welbeck - The Defence Sixth Form College opened in September 2005.TQ Education & Training Ltd (part of Pearson) are responsible for curriculum and education, the management of all educational learning resources, sports and pastoral care.

The College is seeking a well-qualified, experienced Teacher of Mathematics for AS and A level students to join the Mathematics and Computing Faculty at our purpose-built residential Sixth Form College near Loughborough from September 2019.

This is a One Year Fixed Term Contract.

It is a full teaching timetable, up to 20 hours Monday to Saturday morning.In return we offer small classes in a friendly environment

You should be committed and enthusiastic.You will be expected to participate in extra-curricular activities, either delivery of sport or assisting with the CCF.

Job Description:
