As Team Leader you will bring a positive, visible and inclusive leadership style which will inspire and motivate the team to deliver effective and robust regulation of the waste sector and a professional response to serious environmental incidents.

You will have a good understanding of incident management and regulatory work and be skilled in dealing with a wide range of customers and stakeholders.

First and foremost, we are looking for a leader and as such you will:

This role includes being on standby and taking part in a duty roster, this standby role attracts additional payments.

The team  
The Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR) Waste Team, Brampton/Bedford, covers a diverse patch encompassing the rural home counties as well as facing the challenges of large population centres, agriculture and industry.

You will be managing a busy team who perform a regulatory and enforcement role covering hazardous waste, carriers, brokers & dealers and visiting permitted sites.

Responding to significant environmental incidents is also a key element of the team's work.

Experience/skills required  
Above all, you will be passionate about leading, motivating, supporting and developing your team. We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience of leading a team and in managing staff wellbeing effectively.
• Excellent people skills.
• Experience in motivating people to deliver to their full potential and delivering against corporate targets.
• A good understanding of health & safety risk management.
• Well-developed communication and influencing skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively.
• Experience of working with a range of customers both internal and external and delivering excellent customer service.
• Experience of managing performance fairly and effectively.
• The ability to prioritise tasks and to quickly adapt to changing situations.

A full UK driving licence is essential.
