About the role
As we strive towards better supporting the lives of everyone living with cancer, Macmillan is developing a new fully-integrated money and work service to be delivered face-to-face in healthcare settings by a small team of advisers. These advisers will interact daily with people living with cancer, some of whom will have only very recently been diagnosed. During these interactions, they will look at the whole person to identify and assess all their potential money and work needs. In accordance with this assessment, they will offer specialist welfare and benefit support and/ or act as a gateway to other relevant Macmillan money and work-related services.
As the leader of this team, you will develop, coach, support and motivate the advisers to deliver a high-quality, high-impact and consistent experience. In this role, you will be an instrumental part of helping people with cancer find their best way through.
You will have a deep understanding of the benefits system and be able to deliver benefits/welfare rights advice to a very high standard. You should be an experienced manager with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. It is essential that you can remain calm and competent under pressure.
34.5 hours per week on a rota basis. Hours will be worked between 08:00-20:15, Monday to Friday, with daily travel expected.
Assessment centre and interviews will be held on Tuesday 4th December 2018.We will be holding an assessment centre and interviews on the same day, please be mindful following the mornings assessment centre you may be invited back for interview in the afternoon.
