Technical Project Manager

Talented, driven, and entrepreneurial team member to collaborate and help drive strategy for Client Integrations, Customized Product and Programmed Revenue initiatives within higher education. The successful candidate will be responsible fororganizing and attending technical meetings with the project team and technical administrators at the customer site to create project deliverables and commitments by defining clear, attainable objectives and milestones. The individual will work with cross-functional internal teams to understand, monitor, and report on Pearson platforms functionalities, development schedules, with a focus on customer needs. Manages and controls projects in all project-related interfaces: planning, directing, and coordinating project activities with the ownership for successful completion of all project deliverables to the business within established financial, schedule, and quality objectives.

Technical Project Management
●Organizes, conducts, and attends Technical meetings with project team to create project deliverables and commitments by defining clear, attainable objectives and milestones
●Works with project teams to determine milestones, and what will be needed to meet milestone The scope and commitment is the definition of a successful project plan;
●Assess faculty needs to provide solutions, feasibility reports, process documentation, technology explanations, and timeline and risk summaries to project and management stakeholders.
●Works with project team to determine and refine estimates based on departmental abilities and constraints;
●Authors, maintains, and applies detailed project plans to support the needs of the business
●Provides detailed status reports on all active projects;
●Manage multiple projects at one time.
●Implements lessons learned from retrospectives
●Document all production processes, project management processes, planning, budgets, feasibility studies, and risks for future training and business continuity.
●Work with local campus System Administrators to configure integration components
●Set up test integration links and troubleshoot issues
●Interface with internal technical teams as necessary to resolve issues
Technical Research and Development
●Work with cross-functional business unit groups to understand, monitor, and report on Pearson platforms functionalities, development schedules, and production processes
●Develop high-level functional specifications, RFI documents, and liaise with vendor organizations to map media enhancement.
●Function as primary technical lead, providing research and detailed assessment of new technology requests
Leadership and Management
●Facilitates project approval process with management, project documents and other related materials;
●Coordinates and resolves issues escalated from the project team or other development groups;
●Partners with product management to manage internal client expectations;
●Creates and maintains relationships across the organization;
●Works with team leaders to manage both dedicated and matrixed resources;
●Coaches other project managers on project management and communication skills;
●Oversee projects as assigned by Management team
●Oversee production of various media elements for the Faculty Program Curriculum, including: LTI Integrations; eBooks, LMS, Mobile deployment, delegating tasks and directing overall production efforts.
Education and experience
●Bachelor’s degree required inManagement Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field.
●3 - 5 years of experience in administering and/or supporting Learning Management Systems (i.e. Blackboard, Brightspace, Canvas, Moodle, Sakai)
●3 - 5 years short, mid and long-term project management experience at different scales
●3 - 5 years technical documentation experience for both technical and non-technical audience
●Demonstrated experience developing compelling product visions combined with a track record of successful execution
●Understanding of key industry integration concepts including but not limited to: IMS Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI)/Common Cartridge (CC)/ Question and Test Interoperability (QTI), API, REST/SOAP Web Service

●Ability to hit the ground running – a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter who can work under high level management guidance or direction
●Strength in driving conversations with B-Level and C-Level Management Executives
●Passion for education, technology, and building adaptive integration and delivery methods
●Ability to deal with ambiguity, find creative resolutions and drive for results
●Experience in working with a highly experimental portfolio (e.g. launch, fail and then apply lessons learned to relentlessly try again)
●Methodological expertise in user-centered design, with a track record of developing early-stage prototypes into successful market releases
●Track record of taking on big challenges and delivering despite obstacles and limited resources
●Strong decision-making, negotiation, and relationship management skills – ability to balance and reconcile conflicting interests
●Ability to listen to different perspectives and respond objectively and constructively to new ideas
