Reporting to the Head of High Stakes Testing the Test Delivery Manager is responsible for the delivery of key projects which are the responsibility of the Test Development Group. These include but are not limited to the development of new items, activities relating to the pre-testing and calibration of test items and the development of new assessments.

The role is primarily one of managing specific projects to ensure they are delivered to time and on budget. This role can be based in either Harlow OR London.

The Test Delivery Manager will work with other members of the team to ensure that:

  • Projects are appropriately scoped with clear accountabilities, time lines and resources
  • All stages of the project are appropriately documented
  • All stakeholders are effectively engaged
  • Quality assurance measures are in place and documented
  • Dependencies and conflicts are managed between projects
  • Collaboration takes place across the business bringing together dispersed teams
  • There is effective communication to all stakeholders
  • Risks are identified and managed
  • Project progress is monitored and non-compliance flagged
  • Projects are closed or rolled over as appropriate with relevant sign off, hand over and documentation

Ensure specific projects are set-up and managed in a controlled way

Reporting Projects

Create and manage comprehensive project reporting to ensure full visibility of project delivery

Measuring project progress and deliverables

Identify appropriate management Information to measure project milestones, outputs and outcomes

Typical Tasks


The Test Delivery Manager will:

  • Develop specific plans for Test Development Projects including timelines, key deliverables and resources
  • Monitor progress on specified projects and report progress
  • Manage risks to the schedule and resources
  • Help to identify areas of improvement or efficiencies within the projects being managed
  • Ensure that projects are scoped appropriately and have the correct level of sign off
  • Working across teams and co-ordinating the work of others to achieve mutual aims

Educated to a degree level of equivalent

Project coordination qualification , training or equivalent experience

Previous experience

Experience of working on multiple projects

Knowledge or experience of English Language Qualifications

Knowledge and experience of project management methodologies

Knowledge and experience of business improvement and performance measurement

IT Literacy

High standard of knowledge and ability to use MS Office including Visio and Excel. Experience of using remote meeting technology.

The successful candidate will need to be highly professional in their approach and demeanour, displaying a level of gravitas in working with different levels of the organisation.
