Job Description

The Supply Coordinator role is a critical position involved in the supply optimization activities of the Fuels North America. This role is responsible for optimization activities related to crude oil supply and asphalt for the Toledo refinery.

  • Lead the process for crude oil supply and optimization, buys / sells and inventory optimization to maximize asset gross margin within context of maximum Group, Fuels North America, and refinery value.
  • Key leader in the refinery out-month planning process. Works with the refinery optimization team to overcome refinery constraints with optimized feedstocks
  • Direct & facilitate asset trading activities that are performed on behalf of the refinery for crude oil and asphalt.
  • Directly develop and oversee feed stock quality monitoring and assessment for the purpose of appropriately valuing against dynamic refinery constraints, ensuring key process safety envelopes and commercial qualities are reflected in how crude feed stock quality is monitored.
  • Seek and offer input with direct influence to help balance operating risk (cost, availability/reliability) with margin opportunity.
  • Identify, support, and/or champion opportunities to grow commercial value or address changes in regional and global supply balances. Ensure business development teams are involved where appropriate and line manager is aligned with established priorities for projects and initiatives to remove constraints.
  • Manage working capital to meet business requirements while optimizing cash flow, continue to foster improved communication with finance team, and comply with Group financial guidelines.



Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of 5 years of prior Refining operations/optimization/planning/supply experience.
  • 10 years of overall industry experience.
  • Previous exposure and/or interaction across the Refining/IST and/or Marketing/IST interface, particularly the operational interface.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Has detailed knowledge of BP and competitor economics and can identify new supply opportunities to maximize value.
  • Strong tactical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of geographic footprint and industry players.
