Qualifications

Background Information:

Training from Pearson provides training for teachers in the UK and internationally on behalf of internal clients within Pearson.

Training is supplied face to face and online to support teachers and educators to help enable effective teaching and learning using Pearson products and services effectively and with confidence. This includes ‘product training’ and ‘pedagogical’ training delivered more independently of Pearson brands or products.

The Training from Pearson is a team providing management and delivery services, and a pool of expert trainers and writers contracted when their services are required.

This involves:

  • working with internal clients, and existing customers and potential customers
  • managing (directly or through internal stakeholders) the delivery of high quality services for content and content production, logistics, venue booking, catering, travel and hotels, delegate booking and event management, delegate/customer communications, billing and revenue management and customer services
  • managing (directly or through internal stakeholders) the deployment and payment of a pool of high quality trainers and writers

Purpose:

The Training Delivery Manager – International Qualifications is responsible for providing operational delivery of high quality training services to teachers on Pearson Qualifications on behalf of internal (Pearson) clients, in line with Pearson standards principles and Ofqual regulatory requirements (with reference to the Conditions of Recognition)

The role reports into the Head of Training and includes management responsibility for:

  • Operational budget of £1.7M
  • Collaborating with internal clients to identify training solutions for their external customers; including financial planning, operational resource planning, and agreement of key performance indicators and service levels
  • Implementation of the service solution
  • Drive and implement change projects delivering on cost savings and efficiencies
  • Ensuring continuous improvement is effectively embedded in service solution processes
  • Providing accurate, regular, clear management reporting on:

o Key performance indicators

o Service level adherence

o Other quality measures as appropriate

o Financial performance

o Operational delivery performance and risks

  • Providing accurate, regular, clear, responsive reporting to internal client groups including teams with responsibility for monitoring regulatory requirements and relationships with Ofqual and JCQ
  • Managing the operational delivery of high quality qualifications training services (provided online or face to face), directly or through internal stakeholders, in accordance with Pearson standards principles and Ofqual regulatory requirements, including:

o Content and content production, logistics

o Venue booking, catering,

o Travel and hotels for trainers, writers or customers

o Organisation of safety measures for events in high risk countries

o Delegate booking and event management

o Delegate/customer communications, billing and revenue management

o Customer services

o Regulatory compliance

o Managing, directly or through internal stakeholders, the deployment, contracting and payment of a pool of high quality trainers and writers, in accordance with Pearson standards principles and Ofqual regulatory requirements.

o Managing external suppliers of services as appropriate, including management of SLAs and KPIs

o Managing stakeholder relationships

The role includes management responsibility for leading and managing a team of 9 direct reports (training event coordinators and training event advisors), including:

  • Set individual and team objectives and monitor performance
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews as per the business cycle
  • Monitor personal development plans
  • Liaise with Learning and Development to support any individual/team training or up-skilling needs
  • Monitor and manage performance

The post-holder has responsibility for ensuring the services they manage are administered and delivered in line with Pearson corporate priorities, including commitment to efficacy of our learning services.

Additional information

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Our offices are ideally located near the Underground and next to Covent Garden.
