This is a full-time, temporary, maternity cover opportunity. We are always open to discuss individual’s flexible working needs so please speak to us during the recruitment process to understand what this could look like for you. Some weekend working will be required on a rota basis.
37-hour week, the team cover hours between 8am -6pm on a rota with occasional weekend cover.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a people and customer focused individual to join the team as a Transport Scheduler here in York. This is one of the few roles in Supply Chain where you get to work with all our amazing NiM (Nestle in the Market) businesses.

A day in the life of Transport Scheduler
Reporting into the Scheduling Team Leader, you will work as part of the team that is responsible for Transport Planning across NiM, perform a variety of roles, depending upon skill levels, including load planning, vehicle scheduling, haulage procurement and data analysis to provide best cost, best service for Logistics and NUK&I, Waters, Purina and CPUK (Cereal Partners).
Key responsibilities include:
• To build work schedules for own fleet and third-party columns that are highly efficient and deliver excellent customer service. You will also act as the main contact to factories and chocolate supply chain
• To buy in third party transport using the prescribed process, to achieve best costs and excellent customer service
• To undertake NUK DC Planning and Atlas load planning for NIM DCs to manage volumes within the agreed capacities, and act as main contact for a Nestle Waters
What will make you successful
To be successful in this role you will ideally come from a Supply Chain or scheduling background with a knowledge of UK transport legislation.
Other key attributes:
• Ability to work alongside and communicate effectively with peers and leaders is essential.
• Experience in successfully managing multiple priorities.
• You will be customer focused and always have the customer at the forefront of your mind.
• You will have the ability to challenge and motivate in a matrix organisation
• Have good geographical knowledge of the UK&I
• Computer literate and able to pull together information from a variety of sources
This is a great opportunity to work with lots of other departments at Nestlé, including Customer Solutions, Customer Facing Supply Chain, Distribution Centres, Factories and third parties across the full NiM portfolio, and Accounts Receivable.
