User Experience Research Intern

We are currently seeking highly motivated students to join our User Experience Research (UXR) team.We work with multiple teams to define the user experience strategy, design and implementation of our products. Utilizing a broad base of research methodologies, we work closely with UX designers and product stakeholders to ensure that Pearson products deliver the best possible educational experience in ways that are both remarkable and engaging.
The User Experience Research intern will support researchers working with cross-functional teams of UX designers, product managers, learning designers, and product marketers to plan, coordinate, and execute research across a range of programs and products. The User Experience Research intern will assist in designing and executing studies, and in some cases, may have projects of their own. The ideal candidate will be passionate about user-centered design and research and have empathy for users. They should have an understanding of a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and know how to translate research findings into design solutions.
●Assist UX Researchers on projects and be an active, contributing member of the process
●Develop research plans
●Observe & facilitate user research sessions, both in the lab and in the field
●Collaborate on analysis and reporting results
●Conduct user interface (UI) inspections
●Participate in meetings & conversations with the larger Pearson User Experience Research group
The ideal candidate will be a graduate student majoring in Human Computer Interaction, Experimental or Cognitive Psychology, Information Science, or related field.
Familiarity with conducting user research as part of a course project and / or exposure to usability testing is also required.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:
●Knowledge of user-centered research and design methods
●Knowledge of planning and moderating user interviews and usability tests
●Excellent verbal and written communication skills that allow you to clearly and concisely communicate research findings
●Ability and willingness to learn a number of software programs used for conducting user research#LI-TM
