Job Description

As branches extend from bricks and mortar to the digital world we must ensure our digital solutions are making ‘everyone better off’ so our work is big impact and digital is at the heart of what we do.

We’ve got a brilliant opportunity for a talented individual to join us on a contract basis for 6 months.  You’ll join the User Experience Research team who carry out people research and usability studies across all of online estate and services. The team work closely with the UX Design team to identify user needs, diagnose experience issues, refine designs to create remarkable user friendly and inclusive experiences for our customers.  Daily you’ll work alongside the User Experience Research Lead to conduct user research activities within an agile scrum team environment.  You’ll collaborate with designers, product owners and developers to gather research requirements, then scope and propose the most suitable approach.  You’ll conduct, moderate and analyse usability testing sessions in our on-site UX lab, rapidly turning observations into actionable insights and recommendations.  We’ll ask you to communicate research findings to the wider team and stakeholders throughout the organisation whilst promoting a user-centred design approach by educating and inspiring others.

To be brilliant, you’ll bring with you solid experience of UX research delivery gained with in a consultancy, agency or in-house environment.  You’ll be degree qualified in psychology, behavioural sciences, HCI or similar with demonstrable experience of moderating one-to-one usability sessions.  We need you to have practical experience of using a variety of UX research methods with a strong awareness of their merits and weaknesses.  Knowledge of accessibility, with an eye for design and a flair for presenting research findings visually will be the icing on the cake.
