Job Description

At accuRx, we're on a mission to change lives by bringing patients and their healthcare teams together.

Who are accuRx?

At accuRx, we’re building the first patient-centred communication platform. Our products help doctors, nurses, pharmacists, administrators, carers and anyone else involved in a patient's care to communicate easily with patients and with each other. We believe this will transform how healthcare is delivered, improving patient outcomes, improving staff morale and increasing the efficiency of health systems.

Our products have 98% adoption in GP practices and we are investing into other areas of healthcare (hospitals, pharmacies, care homes). By making messaging easier, we’re making more of medicine asynchronous, from simple consultations to getting advice from hospital specialists, saving time and making it easier for staff to communicate. Our users describe the impact of our work best:

Wow! Ground breaking stuff, great work ethic, philosophy & mission - a real beacon of light for our future generations

- a Clinician

Although we’ve initially tackled the UK healthcare system, we have ambitions to improve healthcare systems across the world. You can view more about the impact we’ve had so far here

Come join us if you’re excited about changing the lives of patients and their healthcare teams and share our values of being mission driven, collaboration, continuous improvement, responsible ownership and balance.

Life as a User Researcher at accuRx

As a User Researcher you’ll work closely with our VP of User Experience, Product Managers and Designers. You'll be responsible for leading research in a given product area, and will work closely with the Product Manager in identifying key research questions and high-risk assumptions being made.

You'll be expected to mentor others to do lighter weight research, freeing you up to do the high-impact work across product teams. You’ll be creative and take initiative in how you conduct research and testing (read more about the some of the hurdles of user research in healthcare in this blog).

You’ll bring others in product teams (e.g. Engineers & Designers) along the user research journey, and get them involved throughout whether that be shadowing at the frontline, interviews or remote testing.

You'll champion and advocate for our users' needs and their problems throughout product development, and in other areas of the business where relevant. You'll help scale our research processes as our product teams, and company continue to grow, and ensure that research goals and priorities are aligned to business needs.

What the team say ...

"I can't wait for a new team member to join because it's always exciting to see the department you're in expand! It will also mean we can have some really interesting discussions on what we can do to improve our research!" - Alice - User Researcher

We’d really like to hear from you if....

You have worked with cross functional software teams, and you have substantial hands-on experience leading research across product teams. It would be great if you had any experience doing user research in a healthcare context, but it’s not necessary.

And...

  • You have experience scaling research processes and defining best practice
  • You’re an excellent communicator and facilitator, and you love finding creative ways to share your research and insights
  • You appreciate robust research, but can also weigh up practical constraints and priorities – you know what enough research looks like
  • You’ll be comfortable with using your initiative and thinking on your feet in planning and conducting user research
  • You’re empathetic, love talking to people and have the ability to strike up a good rapport easily
  • You're experienced in using user insights to help shape product strategy in your team
  • When you see something not working, you'll flag it and be part of the solution
  • You share our values
