We're on the search for an ambitious User Researcher

Job Description

We have ambitions to build a better bank where customers, colleagues and the communities we serve are better off.   As branches extend from bricks and mortar to the digital world we must ensure our digital solutions are making ‘everyone better off’ so our work is big impact and digital is at the heart of what we do.

We’ve got a brilliant opportunity for a talented individual to join us on a fixed term contract basis for 12 months.

You’ll join the User Experience Research team who carry out user research and usability testing across all of our digital services. The team work closely with the UX Design team to identify user needs, diagnose experience issues, refine designs to create remarkable user friendly and inclusive experiences for our customers.

You will work alongside a team of researchers to conduct research activities that span across different product lines within an Agile Scrum team environment.  You’ll collaborate with designers, product owners, traders and developers to gather research requirements, then scope and propose the most suitable approach.  You’ll conduct, moderate and analyse research sessions in our on-site UX lab, or in one of our customer Lounges, rapidly turning observations into actionable insights and recommendations.  We’ll ask you to communicate research findings to the wider team and stakeholders throughout the organisation whilst promoting a user-centred design approach by educating and inspiring others.

To be brilliant, you’ll bring with you solid experience of UX research delivery gained with in a consultancy, agency or in-house environment.  You’ll be degree qualified in psychology, behavioural sciences, HCI or similar.

You will have demonstrable experience of conducting a wide range of user research methods from ethnographic studies, stake holder interviews, running co-design workshops through to moderated usability testing sessions.  We need you to have practical application and experience of using a variety of these user research methods within the Digital service and design space from mobile devices to websites with a strong awareness of their merits and weaknesses.

Knowledge of accessibility, with an eye for design and a flair for presenting research findings visually will be the icing on the cake.

Our aim is to nurture a skilled, diverse and committed workforce where every individual – regardless of background – can share our purpose, reach their potential and be rewarded appropriately for their contribution to our success
