Description

The Design, User Experience and Media team is a dedicated, professional, supportive and knowledgeable group of people who work creatively to deliver outstanding qualification and resources products and services for the UK Schools and Colleges market. The UX designer within the team will provide the UX lead within a project, understanding the business requirements, undertake research, testing and analysis, to delivercompelling and efficacious user experiences that combine technology and content in ways that will engage and delight our learners and teachers. Working within a UX team and process, you will liaise closely with visual designers, product and technology teams in the creation of prototypes, constantly iterating your output in response to feedback from and validation from our users.

Qualifications

The UX designer will demonstrate skills and experiences in:

  • Stakeholder engagement and communication
  • UX techniques (sketching, wireframing, rapid prototyping, card sorting)
  • In depth user research, including developing for example personas, user stories, flow diagrams, key IA artefacts such as site/product maps
  • Plan and conducting user testing
  • Implement data analytics on a project
  • Create low fidelity wireframes to support early development discussions
  • Develop detailed, annotated wireframes and accompanying documentation that specify functionality and behavior to a developer
  • Liaise closely/collaborate with visual designer, e.g. briefing re. final wireframes and development of visual design layer
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; team-working and relationship building
  • Knowledge of accessibility requirements and user centric design principles
  • Takes a keen interest in current developments in the area of user experience design, (particularly trends and innovations in the ares of web design and mobile devises.)
  • Excellent knowledge of the Adobe creative suite, HTML, CSS and familiarity with a range of tools, (Axure, Adobe XD, Sketch).
