Do you have the personal resilience and established skills and experience as a welfare rights adviser to assist people affected by cancer in maximising their income through benefits?
You'll work within our Financial Help Team, offering comprehensive benefits advice on our busy telephone helpline receiving up to 250 calls per day to the service. In addition to offering benefits advice, you will support customers to access debt, energy, housing and employment rights services.
Due to an increase in people affected by cancer accessing the Macmillan Support Line, we are expanding our team. We are looking for experienced Welfare Rights Advisers who can demonstrate highly developed listening, communication and interpersonal skills necessary to handle emotional and complex situations in a way which always balances empathy with professionalism.
Alongside the technical knowledge, we are looking for individuals with a flexible approach to work. This will support our service as it makes exciting changes to enable us to meet the needs of more people affected by cancer.
We offer a full and comprehensive induction programme with ongoing support and development opportunities.
Our benefits include private medical insurance, life assurance, pension, childcare vouchers, generous leave, and interest free loans for season ticket and gym membership.
Please note that in order to be there for more people living with and affected by cancer at their time of need, we are currently going through a period of change to consider extending opening hours, which includes evening and weekend working. Clarity about any change in opening hours will be given at interview stage.
Assessment centres will take place on 17 and 18 May 2018. For those successful, second round interviews will be held on 21, 22 and 24 May 2018 at our Shipley office.
Please submit your application as soon as possible as we reserve the right to change the closing date of our vacancies.
We aim to encourage a culture where people can be themselves and be valued for their strengths so we seek to attract and employ the best people from the widest talent pool, reflecting the diverse nature of our society.
We will support you throughout the recruitment process with any reasonable adjustments required in accordance with the Equality Act. Please contact the Recruitment Team if you require support.
