Job Description

The Strategic Partnerships and Impact Manager will play a central role in increasing the reach, practical application and impact of UPD's work. Working closely with colleagues across research, evidence, policy and communications, the postholder will develop and nurture strategic partnerships across the health data sector, identify opportunities for collaboration and income generation, and support organisations to translate evidence into practice.

UPD is focused on becoming more financially sustainable and increasing the impact of its research, influencing work and resources through stronger partnerships and more active knowledge sharing. We are taking a more collaborative leadership role across the health data sector, working with and through partners to spread learning, strengthen coordination and support public trust in the use of patient data.

The role will also focus on strengthening capability and capacity across the health data sector through the development of resources, events and learning opportunities, and by supporting decision-making about health data use.

Responsibilities

Partnerships, impact and sustainability

  • Develop strategic partnerships that extend the reach, influence and impact of UPD's work.
  • Develop sponsorship, commissioned work and other income-generating opportunities that support UPD's long-term sustainability.
  • Build relationships with organisations across health, research, patient involvement, charity, industry and policy sectors to identify opportunities for collaboration, influence and shared learning.

Capacity and capability building

  • Work with partners and end-users to co-design practical resources and learning opportunities that help stakeholders apply evidence about public attitudes to health data use.
  • Develop and deliver a programme of events, tools, newsletters and other resources that support evidence-informed practice across the health data sector.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen capability across the health data ecosystem by reducing duplication, connecting activity and encouraging collaboration around shared challenges.
  • Develop a patient and public advisory group to help inform UPD's strategic direction and activities.

Programme management and organisational delivery

  • Manage contracts, suppliers, budgets and delivery relating to the areas of responsibility.
  • Support planning, reporting and coordination across the UPD team, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives and funder requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of UPD's operations, systems and ways of working, working closely with colleagues across research, policy and communications.
